Basketball Recap: Texas Christian Tigers vs. Cornerstone Christian Academy

The Texas Christian Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 57-44 victory over Cornerstone Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Texas Christian also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Texas Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Williams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Williams hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brecken Pelzel, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Several Cornerstone Christian Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Seth Younts, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Younts hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Shayne Cox, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

Even though they lost, Cornerstone Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Texas Christian only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

Texas Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing The Connection School of Houston the next time they take the court. Texas Christian will host the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
