Baseball Recap: La Jolla Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but La Jolla ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the La Jolla Country Day Torreys 7-6. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 12-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

La Jolla got a big performance out of Harper Lane, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Lane a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zoran Shepanski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

The win snapped La Jolla's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-12 record. As for La Jolla Country Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 16-12.

As of now, neither La Jolla nor the Torreys have any future games scheduled.
