Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Tigers vs. Eagle Rock Eagles

Lincoln is 0-10 against Eagle Rock since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tigers will face off against the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lincoln had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Wilson on Monday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Mules with a sharp 13-3 victory.

Monica Amaya was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Monica Vences, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Eagle Rock came out on top against Bravo on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Knights. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three contests in a row.

Eagle Rock's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8.

Lincoln might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Eagle Rock when the teams last played back in April. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
