Baseball Recap: Cascade Takes a Loss

Cascade extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-13 in the process. They lost 17-7 to the Waterville Shockers. The Kodiaks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Shockers earlier this season, when they won 16-3.

Blake Kukowski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Teddy Everson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

As for Waterville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Waterville's side, Lucas Fletcher and Kahle Dailing did most of the damage at the plate: Fletcher went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Dailing got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Schneider, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cascade will square off against Chelan at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountain Goats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Kodiaks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waterville, they will face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
