Football Recap: Williams Valley's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Williams Valley was the 28-13 winner over Schuylkill Haven when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings lost to the Hurricanes at home by a 43-29 margin on Friday. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Williams Valley still got an impressive performance from Fletcher Thompson, who rushed for 100 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Thompson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks, making six total tackles, and defending one pass. Brady Shomper helped out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Colton Reber was his usual excellent self, rushing for 165 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 44 receiving yards and one touchdown for Schuylkill Haven. Reber was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Niko Castillo, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Williams Valley fell to 5-1. As for Schuylkill Haven, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Williams Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 35-14 victory against Panther Valley on the 3rd. As for Schuylkill Haven, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 55-14 win against Marian Catholic on the 3rd.
