Basketball Game Preview: Lanier Longhorns vs. Seckinger Jaguars

The Lanier Longhorns will challenge the Seckinger Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Lanier is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 68-32 loss at the hands of Milton. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Seckinger took on Chattahoochee on Tuesday. Seckinger received a blow as they fell 41-26 to Chattahoochee. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seckinger's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Lanier, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Lanier against Seckinger in their previous meeting on January 10th, as the team secured a 75-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lanier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
