League recap: Vista Murrieta tops Los Osos to extend winning streak

Southwestern recap November 19, 2013

Vista Murrieta extended the longest winning streak in Southwestern this week by beating Los Osos, 57-14. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Broncos.

Chaparral and Chino Hills played the most contested game in the league this week, with Chaparral eventually emerging with a 31-28 victory.

Great Oak's dynamic duo of Laquan Williams and Raekwon Yates proved to be unstoppable against Norco, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Williams threw for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns and Yates had 87 yards receiving. Brandon Presley helped Great Oak's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 75 yards.

Colin Baker was a passing and rushing force as Vista Murrieta defeated the Grizzlies. He completed 13 passes for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 107 yards. Baker's favorite target this week was Jamie Nunley, who caught 4 passes for 67 yards.

He was 15-23 with 3 interceptions.

6-foot-2 quarterback Kyle Plantier of Temecula Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,285. He has also thrown 22 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Presley. The Great Oak star has 52 catches for 1,102 yards.

Coley Candaele's team took down Los Osos 57-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Baker ran for 107 yards and caught 4 passes for 24 yards in the win.
