Recap: Sheldon Panthers vs. Pierce City Eagles
The Sheldon Panthers suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 67-42 walloping at the hands of Pierce City. Sheldon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sheldon's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mariam Lamb, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Wynsdae Connelly who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 54.8% of Sheldon's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sheldon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Pierce City, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Sheldon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northeast at 6:45 p.m. on January 17th. Northeast is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Pierce City, they will be playing at home against Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miller is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
