Plano took a 20-point defeat the last time they faced off against Melissa, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over the Cardinals on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won six contests in a row.

Plano's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Melissa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coming up, Plano will host Wakeland at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Melissa, they will square off against Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
