Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. Thrasher Rebels

Having just played yesterday, the Wheeler Eagles will get right back to it and host the Thrasher Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheeler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.

Wheeler took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They breezed by Tupelo Christian Prep to the tune of 57-8. With Wheeler ahead 41-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Wheeler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Kate Beckham, who posted seven points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Beckham a new career-high in steals. Macie Arnold was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Thrasher waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They slipped by the Eagles 49-48.

Thrasher's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Wheeler, their win bumped their record up to 17-11.

Wheeler didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Thrasher in their previous matchup last Friday, but they still walked away with a 41-36 victory. Does Wheeler have another victory up their sleeve, or will Thrasher turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
