Basketball Recap: Science and Tech Comes Up Short

Science and Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 53-23 defeat at the hands of the John Paul II Centurions. The Stingrays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-10.

John Paul II got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Garcia out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Garcia has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. Mikaela Lozano was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and five steals.

Science and Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for John Paul II, they pushed their record up to 17-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Science and Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for John Paul II, they will challenge Incarnate Word Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Incarnate Word Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something John Paul II surely won't give up without a fight.
