Volleyball Recap: Makenna Anderson Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Raymond Central

The Minden Whippets got the win against the Raymond Central Mustangs on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Whippets.

Minden not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Raymond Central between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 25-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Minden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makenna Anderson, who had nine digs and two assists.

Minden was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Despite the loss, Raymond Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Julia Schultz had 11 digs. Schultz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Minden's win bumped their record up to 24-8. As for Raymond Central, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 17-14.

Looking ahead, Minden will square off against Fairbury at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jeffs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each contest than the last. Raymond Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
