League recap: Sierra Canyon extends winning streak with victory over Marshall

Sierra Canyon extended the longest winning streak in Alpha this week by beating Marshall, 51-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Trailblazers.

Sierra Canyon took down the Eagles 51-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Andre Nunez threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns and ran for eight yards in the win.

Jon Ellinghouse's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Xavier Menifield chipped in 105 yards. Isaiah Renfro helped Sierra Canyon's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.

Brian Tucker was the best wideout in the league this week as the Trailblazers topped Marshall. Tucker tallied two receptions for 50 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Nunez and Menifield Sierra Canyon has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Nunez leads the league in passing with 1364 yards, while Menifield has rushed for 986 yards this season. Brentwood School's Garrett Swanky leads the league in receiving yards with 508 on 32 catches.

The Trailblazers' Menifield is a mere 14 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Brentwood School takes on Sierra Canyon. As it stands, Patrick Brown's team is in third, while the Trailblazers are in first.

There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and Sierra Canyon face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Brentwood School comes in having scored 214 this season, while the Trailblazers have scored 333. The Eagles scored 0 points last week as they lost to Paraclete.

Sierra Canyon led Alpha in scoring this week after putting up 51 points on Jim Arellanes' team. Nunez in the win.
