Baseball Game Preview: Sky View Bobcats vs. Tooele Buffaloes

For the second straight game, Sky View will face off against Tooele. The Bobcats will welcome the Buffaloes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Sky View has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Wednesday, Sky View didn't have quite enough to beat Tooele and fell 5-4.

For Tooele's part, Coleman Dunford was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Dunford has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanner Lay, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gabe Sutherland, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Tooele kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Sky View has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Tooele, they moved to 3-19 with that win, which also ended their 15-game losing streak.
