Recap: Gridley Bulldogs vs. Armijo Royals
The Gridley Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 83-53 victory over Armijo on the road. The result was nothing new for Gridley, who have now won eight matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Aaron Kullar, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The match was his 14th in a row with at least ten points. Travus Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Several Royals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daniel Williams, who scored 24 points. That's the first time this season that Williams scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isreal Legree, who scored 14 points.
Gridley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Armijo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Gridley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dixon at 6:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Dixon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 967th, while Gridley is ranked 300th). Armijo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Vacaville Christian at 12:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Hopefully Vacaville Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
