Baseball Recap: Cholla Beats Sabino for Their Second Straight Win

Cholla made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sabino, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Cholla never let Sabino get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Chargers have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Raymond Molina made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hector Silvain, who scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-2.

The victory made it two in a row for Cholla and bumps their season record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Sabino and 0-5 Amphitheater. As for Sabino, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cholla will take on Amphitheater at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cholla is facing Amphitheater at the right time seeing as Amphitheater is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Sabino, they will face off against Benjamin Franklin at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
