Baseball Game Preview: Grayson County Cougars vs. Thomas Nelson Generals

The Grayson County Cougars will challenge the Thomas Nelson Generals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Grayson County's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Thomas Nelson has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Grayson County headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Caverna let them put that streak behind them. The Cougars never let the Colonels get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cougars' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Thomas Nelson and Hart County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Generals came up short against the Raiders on Thursday, falling 17-2.

Ryan Peters made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Jacob Parsley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Thomas Nelson's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Grayson County, their victory bumped their record up to 10-17.
