Recap: Gibson Southern Titans vs. Washington Hatchets
Make it 11 blowout wins for the Gibson Southern Titans this season. They blew past Washington 62-42. The win was familiar territory for Gibson Southern who now have seven in a row.
Leading Gibson Southern to victory were Chloey Graham and Gabby Spink. Graham scored 17 points along with three steals, while Spink scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Graham is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Schnaus, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Washington lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Katie Reed, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Kenna Garland was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Gibson Southern's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. As for Washington, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gibson Southern will take on Heritage Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Heritage Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Thursday. As for Washington, they will be playing at home against Evansville North at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Evansville North is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.9 points per game.
