Fordham Prep had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 3-8 on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Monsignor Farrell Lions. This was a revenge game for the Rams: when they faced off against the Lions on Monday, they had to take a 12-2 loss.

As for Monsignor Farrell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Monsignor Farrell's part, Chris DeFazio was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave DeFazio a new career-low in walks (one).

At the plate, Monsignor Farrell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Raimonda, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
