Baseball Recap: Ocoee Gets the Win

Ocoee's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Colonial Grenadiers by a score of 7-2. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Grenadiers: they've now won three in a row.

Gunnar Patterson tossed a big game, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trenton Nice, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Shimar Woodard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Ocoee's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Colonial, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocoee will challenge Circle Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ocoee is facing Circle Christian at the right time seeing as Circle Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Colonial, they will face off against Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
