Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Orchard Park

Orchard Park came out on top against Lancaster on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Quakers walked away with an 8-3 win over the Legends. The victory continues a trend for the Quakers in their matchups with the Legends: they've now won six in a row.

Connor Valiquette made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Valiquette was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Nalawadi, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Will Newlove, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Orchard Park's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lancaster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Orchard Park will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lancaster: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
