Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Raiders vs. Pine Forest Trojans

The Richmond Raiders will head out to square off against the Pine Forest Trojans at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richmond will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

On Monday, Richmond needed a bit of extra time to put away Southern Lee. They secured a 74-68 W over the Cavaliers.

Richmond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keyonta Davis led the charge by going 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amer Morrison, who went 8 of 12 en route to 18 points.

Meanwhile, Pine Forest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 52-47 to Overhills. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Richmond pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Pine Forest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Richmond against Pine Forest in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 79-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richmond since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
