Basketball Recap: Northridge Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Northridge came tearing into Saturday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Portage Central Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-23 victory. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Raiders had established a 42-point advantage.

Northridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alli Ambers led the charge by shooting 91% from the field on her way to 24 points and six steals. Ambers' big performance that evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Scholl, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points in addition to seven steals and six assists.

Northridge's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Portage Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northridge will take on Goshen in a holiday battle at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Portage Central, they will be home for the holidays to greet Lakeview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
