Washington Academy extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 4-1 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Foxcroft Academy Ponies. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 last Friday.
Bella Cirone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
