Football Recap: Waynesboro Comes Up Short

Waynesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 35-27 to the Riverheads Gladiators. The Little Giants lost against the Gladiators in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-17 score last time.

Player #30 threw for 41 yards. Player #7 was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards. On the ground, Ethan Newsome rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries.

Waynesboro's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Riverheads, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Waynesboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverheads, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 42-6 victory against Brunswick on the 14th.
