Softball Recap: Melrose Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Melrose was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 13-1 to the Reading Memorial Rockets. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Melrose's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Reading Memorial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Melrose will square off against rival Wakefield Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Reading Memorial is set to challenge their familiar foe Belmont at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
