Soccer Recap: Umatilla Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Umatilla's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Tavares Bulldogs by a score of 7-5. The high-scoring effort was just what Umatilla needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Umatilla's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four matchups. As for Tavares, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Umatilla will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Crooms Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Tavares will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Mount Dora Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Mount Dora Christian Academy knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Tavares likes a good challenge.
