Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson Dragons vs. Calvary Christian Warriors

The Jefferson Dragons will square off against the Calvary Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Jefferson heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Robinson by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by just one run.

Elijah Benton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Damian Hatter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Spongers by a score of 7-3.

Caden Schlotterbeck looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maximus Mayes, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jace Traina, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Calvary Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tarpon Springs only posted a batting average of .222.

This is the second loss in a row for Jefferson and nudges their season record down to 15-8. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Calvary Christian, their record is now 24-3.
