Volleyball Recap: West Johnston's Undefeated Season over After Four Games + How To Watch

If West Johnston was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of East Wake on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Corinth Holders Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

West Johnston actually scored more points across those five sets (100-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 14-25, 20-25, 15-12.

Savanna Ford paced West Johnston's offense, picking up nine kills. Ford got some help from Aubrey Lawhorn and her 17 assists. Lawhorn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Johnston fell to 3-1. As for Corinth Holders, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

While West Johnston had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
