Baseball Recap: Rio Mesa Takes a Loss

Rio Mesa scored first but ultimately less than Calabasas in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 5-4. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Coyotes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Andrew Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Christian Macias, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

Rio Mesa now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Calabasas, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Rio Mesa will take on El Camino Real in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Calabasas, they will host Palisades at 3:00 p.m. on March 3.
