Softball Recap: Wilton Comes Up Short

Ridgefield hit Wilton with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors lost 10-2 to the Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Annie McMahon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emma Van Heyst, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Wilton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Ridgefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilton will square off against St. Joseph at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridgefield, they will take on Ludlowe at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
