Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Edward). They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Berean Christian Bulldogs on Thursday. Considering the Pirates have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Caden Freedman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, St. Edward's got a massive performance out of Trey Dunlap, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Dunlap also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cyprian McIntosh, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

St. Edward's always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Edward's and bumps their season record up to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Berean Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, St. Edward's will venture away from home to square off against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on April 4. As for Berean Christian, they will welcome Moore Haven at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
