Basketball Game Preview: Lago Vista Vikings vs. Austin Achieve Polar Bears

Lago Vista has gone a perfect 6-0 against Austin Achieve recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lago Vista Vikings will square off against the Austin Achieve Polar Bears at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lago Vista has four straight victories, Austin Achieve has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Lago Vista didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Manor New Tech, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Manor New Tech are ranked 1022nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Henry Sisemore, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Bailey, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Austin Achieve was beaten by Manor New Tech 75-29 on Friday.

Austin Achieve's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Lago Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.

Everything came up roses for Lago Vista against Austin Achieve in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 76-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lago Vista since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
