Baseball Recap: Riverdale Ridge Starts off Right with Win over Horizon

Riverdale Ridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Horizon Hawks as the Riverdale Ridge Ravens made off with a 13-3 win. For the Ravens, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Jeter McArthur was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nick Williams, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Riverdale Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Horizon only posted an OBP of .364.

Coming up, Riverdale Ridge will be playing at home against Poudre at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rocky Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
