Baseball Recap: Knob Noster Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Eldon typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Knob Noster proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for the Panthers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Cade Cantrell was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cantrell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Garrett Eames, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

The victory was the third in a row for Knob Noster, bringing their record up to 13-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Eldon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knob Noster will host Cole Camp at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Eldon, they will be playing at home against Waynesville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
