Softball Recap: Prestonsburg Comes Up Short

Prestonsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 12-9 to the Martin County Cardinals. The Blackcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Rachael Roberts made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Stephens, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Prestonsburg's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Martin County, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.

Coincidentally, Prestonsburg and Martin County will both be playing East Ridge the next time they take the field. The Cardinals will head out to face the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Blackcats will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
