Basketball Game Preview: Knott County Central Patriots vs. Perry County Central Commodores

The Knott County Central Patriots will head out to square off against the Perry County Central Commodores at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Knott County Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Russell. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Red Devils are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Perry County Central posted their biggest win since December 27, 2024 on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 67-35 victory over Buckhorn. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Commodores.

Perry County Central is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Knott County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Knott County Central was able to grind out a solid win over Perry County Central when the teams last played last Saturday, winning 53-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Knott County Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
