League recap: Carter tops Pacific to extend winning streak

Carter extended the longest winning streak in San Andreas this week by beating Pacific, 41-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.

San Gorgonio moved up to 279 from 308 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Spartans were able to make move up by defeating Arroyo Valley 28-13.

Tahir Rasheed-Mills and Tahir Rasheed-Mills gave San Gorgonio a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Rasheed-Mills threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, while Rasheed-Mills ran for 121 yards. Teammate Melik J ackson added to the ground attack by rushing for 50 yards.

Zamore Zigler was the best wideout in the league this week as Carter bested the Pirates. Zigler racked up four receptions for 72 yards. Traveon Brown helped Carter's passing attack out by catching two balls for 35 yards.

Ron Gueringer's team's Rasheed-Mills and Nathan Meadors have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading San Andreas in both passing and receiving yards. Rasheed-Mills has thrown for 1297 yards this season, while Meadors, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 27 catches for 407 yards. Rialto's Paul Cortez leads the league in rushing yards with 1037.

The Spartans' Rasheed-Mills needs only 88 yards against the Knights next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 105 carries Rasheed-Mills has accumulated 912 yard this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Alex Pierce's team takes on the Hawks. The Lions are in first place, while Arroyo Valley is in third place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Carter takes on Rock San Angelo's team. The Lions have allowed 71 points this season, while the Hawks have given up 91. Carter allowed 0 points last week as it defeated Pacific.

Rialto led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on San Bernardino.
