Basketball Recap: Pioneer Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Pioneer extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Ebonie Chatman. It was close, but on Saturdaythe Pioneer Diamondbacks capped 2024 with a 33-31 victory over the Rowe Warriors thanks in part to Chatman, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pioneer's points.

Another player making a difference was Anika Fleischmann, who posted five points and 11 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 14 times she's played.

Pioneer has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Rowe, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pioneer will host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rowe, they will square off against Vela at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vela is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season.
