Emery/Weiner will take on the Tomball Kings Homeschool at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Emery/Weiner barely beat West Houston HomeSchool the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Emery/Weiner was the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over West Houston HomeSchool two weeks ago.
Emery/Weiner got a great performance from Benjamin Lepow as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Lepow a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

On the hitting side, Kyle Beinart was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Daniel Harris, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Emery/Weiner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Houston HomeSchool only posted an OBP of .233.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tomball Kings, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 17-13 win over Sealy on Tuesday. With that victory, the Homeschool brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Tomball Kings got a massive performance out of Avery Bell, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 5-for-5. Bell has become a key player for Tomball Kings: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Wilkins, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
Emery/Weiner's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Tomball Kings, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 8-11-1.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Emery/Weiner has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Tomball Kings struggles in that department as they've averaged .477. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Emery/Weiner came out on top in a nail-biter against Tomball Kings in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Emery/Weiner repeat their success, or does Tomball Kings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
