Soccer Recap: Savio Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Savio can now relate to. They lost 5-0 to the St. Pius X Panthers on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Panthers are ranked 83rd).

Savio is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8. As for St. Pius X, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 22-2 record this season.

Savio does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Pius X, they will square off against Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Catholic will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something St. Pius X surely won't give up without a fight.
