Basketball Game Preview: Benson vs. Wheaton Warriors

Benson will take on the Wheaton Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Benson took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against MACCRAY, sneaking past 65-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Benson has posted since January 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Wheaton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Owls with a sharp 64-44 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Wheaton is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for Benson, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
