Soccer Recap: United Extends Winning Streak to Three

United's contest on Friday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They put the hurt on the St. Joseph Academy Bloodhounds with a sharp 3-0 win. Fans of the Longhorns have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Manuel Martinez was the driving force of United's attack as he scored all three of United's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

The victory was the third in a row for United, bringing their record for this year to 3-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for St. Joseph Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

United wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Veterans Memorial on the 4th. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Antonio Christian at 2:00 p.m. on January 14th. San Antonio Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 6.5 goals per game this season.
