James Island barely beat Goose Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans claimed a resounding 42-0 win over the Gators. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Gators are ranked 90th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

James Island had a senior duo take command as Connor Dantzler threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes and Malachi Washington gained 80 total yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Raphael Puiu, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one score.

The victory (which was James Island's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 32.3 points this season. As for Goose Creek, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

James Island didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-14 victory against Cane Bay on the 12th. As for Goose Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 33-27 defeat against Beaufort on the 12th.
