Basketball Recap: Jefferson Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Jefferson had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 61-19 win over Whitehall/Harrison/Willow Creek. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 34 points or more this season.

Leading Jefferson to victory were Ryian Eveland and Jaida Jurenka. Eveland went 6 of 12 on her way to 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Jurenka posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Toney, who put up 11 points.

Jefferson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Jefferson's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Whitehall/Harrison/Willow Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will square off against Ennis at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Whitehall/Harrison/Willow Creek, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
