Softball Preview: Overton Mustangs vs. Carlisle Indians
Overton is 8-2 against Carlisle since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Overton Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Carlisle Indians at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Overton has three straight victories, Carlisle has 16 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Overton's win against Elysian Fields wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Overton narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Elysian Fields 15-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since April 23, 2024.

Chelsea Jordan was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-5. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Fenter, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Jordan wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Overton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Carlisle fell victim to Harleton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 18-0 to the Wildcats.
Overton's victory bumped their record up to 6-8-1. As for Carlisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
