Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Cavaliers vs. O'Gorman Knights

Having just played yesterday, the Jefferson Cavaliers will jump right back in to play the O'Gorman Knights at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Jefferson heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They took a 55-41 bruising from Brandon Valley. The Cavaliers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, O'Gorman faced Harrisburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. O'Gorman fell just short of Harrisburg by a score of 48-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since February 20, 2024.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for O'Gorman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Jefferson came up short against O'Gorman when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 55-51. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
