Basketball Recap: Irvin Takes a Loss

Irvin extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 6-16. They had to suffer through a 93-33 loss at the hands of the Bowie Bears. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-19.

As for Bowie, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-13. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Johan Comacho produced another solid effort almost dropping a triple-double with 33 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (six). Jayden Escobar was another key player, shooting 58% from beyond the arc en route to 20 points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irvin will head out to face off against Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bowie, they will venture away from home to challenge Harmony Science Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bowie will be up against Harmony Science Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.61 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
