Baseball Game Preview: Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders vs. Waterloo Tigers

For the second straight game, Palmyra-Macedon will face off against Waterloo. The Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Palmyra-Macedon has four straight wins, Waterloo has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Palmyra-Macedon barely beat Waterloo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Red Raiders put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 19-5 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Red Raiders have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Noah DaPolito, who went 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Porpora, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Palmyra-Macedon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Palmyra-Macedon's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Waterloo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
