Recap: Sunset Knights vs. LaSalle Royal Lions
The Sunset Knights suffered their biggest loss since December 11, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 60-33 loss at the hands of LaSalle. Sunset just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Despite the defeat, Sunset had strong showings from Kayleah Castillo, who scored six points, and Gabriela Rojas, who scored nine points along with four steals.
LaSalle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Melissa Carrasco led the charge by scoring 21 points along with two steals. Carrasco hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Alexandra Gonzalez casar, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Sunset's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for LaSalle, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Sunset will be playing at home against Coral Park at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Coral Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Wednesday. As for LaSalle, they will head out on the road to challenge Coral Gables at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Coral Gables is out to stop a seven-game streak of losses at home.
